The Careggine Resort – Alpi Apuane (Monte la Cima) is located in the Italian province of Lucca in the Toscana region (provincia di Lucca regione Toscana). There are 4 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 2 ski lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 882 and 1500 meters above sea level.
Karejine is located on the slopes of Mount Sumbra, opposite the artificial lake Vagli in the heart of Garfagnana. Located on the eastern side of the Apuan Alps, the vast plateau on which the resort is located is surrounded by beautiful alpine peaks: the Panie Ridge is visible in the south, the Pisanino, Cavallo and Tambura ranges in the northwest, and the Sella, Fiocca and Sumbra mountains in the west.
On Mount La Chima, in Localita Vianova, 5 km from the village of Karegine, two lifts serve 4 km of slopes, from training to challenging, capable of meeting the needs of even the most experienced skiers.
The modern artificial snowmaking system allows you to ski even with a small amount of snowfall.
The Garfagnana ski area includes 3 ski areas: Careggine, Casone di Profecchia and Passo delle Radici, in the latter, however, there are only cross-country ski runs, since since 2010 the lifts are no longer open.
