The Abetone/Val di Luce resort is located in the Italian province of Pistoia in the Toscana region (Provincia di Pistoia regione Toscana). For skiing and snowboarding, 40 km of trails are laid here. 15 lifts transport skiers on them. The winter sports complex is located at an altitude between 1240 and 1892 meters above sea level.
The most popular area of the Tuscan Apennines is the famous Abetone Pass, where the ski resort of the same name is located. The Pisto Apennines, to which it belongs, are renowned for excellent snow and magnificent panoramas. However, local valleys, rivers, forests attract tourists here all year round.
The highest station of local ski lifts is Monte Gomito, 1930 m. It is from here that the best views open up. In sunny weather, you can see Corsica in the west and the snowy peaks of the Alps in the north.
In addition to downhill skiing, there are cross-country skiing trails, snowboard parks, educational slides for adults and children, and hiking along the most spectacular routes are organized.
Abetone is loved by trekking enthusiasts, especially in summer. The most interesting routes are in the mountains of Monte Gomito and Monte Cimone. Another strong point of Abetone is excellent hotels and services, traditional restaurants, cinemas, ice rinks, etc.
Every year it hosts a stage of the European Women’s Cup in Alpine Skiing, cups of the International Ski Federation, as well as the “world championship” for young skiers “Pinocchio on Ski”, organized at the end of March.

The Apennines run along the border of Tuscany and Emilia, and the height of the Abetone Pass is 1400 m. The ski area covers four magnificent valleys: Valle Luce, Valle Sestaione, Val di Lima and Valle dello Scoltenna. 20 kilometers of trails are equipped with snow cannons.
50 kilometers of prepared trails have varying degrees of difficulty and pass through a variety of landscapes: steep slopes of Monte Gomito (Zeno trail), centuries-old forests (Regina, Selletta), alpine meadows (Val di Luce), rocks (“Coppi” and “Pulicchio”). It will appeal to both beginners and experienced skiers. The panorama of snow-capped mountains from 1200 to 1950 m is so beautiful that it is impossible to take your eyes off.

On the tops of the slopes, skiers and snowboarders are delivered 17 lifts: 1 gondola lift, 10 chairlift and 4 t-bar lift. There are 2 children’s lifts for beginners and children. The total length of the cable cars is 148 km, which are capable of transporting up to 24056 passengers/hour.
