Resort Monte Cavallo (Rosskopf) – Vipiteno (Sterzing) is located in the Italian Valle Isarco (Italia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Alto Adige). There are 20 km of slopes for skiing and snowboarding, 3 ski lifts bring skiers up to them. The winter sports complex is located between 948 and 2120 meters above sea level.

The Rosskopf (Monte Cavallo) ski resort is a 5-minute walk from the center of the medieval town of Sterzing (Vipiteno), South Tyrol. Vipiteno itself has been famous for its trade craft since medieval times.

In total, the resort of Monte Cavallo offers 16 km of ski slopes on 12 “blue” and “red” slopes. The ski school is highly esteemed here, it pays great attention to the skill and safety of skiing on the slopes. These conditions are great for families. In addition, a feature of this resort is the presence of the longest in South Tyrol, a perfectly prepared illuminated toboggan run, with a length of as much as 10 km. Nobody will be bored!

Just a few minutes walk from the center of the town of Vipiteno – and you are already near the six-seater ski lift, which will take you to the beginning of the slopes from an altitude of 1860 m. bar terraces with a mug of your favorite drink in hand. Or you can just sunbathe in the sun.

Rosskopf is part of the Ortler Ski Arena’s 16 ski regions, and this allows one pass holders to ski freely at all 16 resorts. A single area for active recreation, which provides maximum pleasure and opportunities!

After a busy day with plenty of skiing, in the center of Sterzing, you can happily end your day with a classic cup of mulled wine or an aperitif in this beautiful town.

Total length of tracks 20 km. The vertical drop is 1172 meters. The surface of the slopes is maintained in good condition using snow-compacting equipment. The surface of the tracks is kept in perfect condition with the help of an artificial snowmaking system. In total, the resort has 100 snow cannons that cover 100% of the slopes. Some of the trails are illuminated for evening skiing. Beginners can use the services of experienced instructors.

The slopes on Monte Cavallo are mostly of medium difficulty and very wide. Easy trails can be found close to the Telemix Panorama lift stations and the Stock four-chair lift. The resort also has a really difficult track. Some of the slopes are located in the upper part of the Monte Cavallo ski area on slopes devoid of vegetation, some are located in the lower part of the site and descend into the valley passing through the forest. The descent to the valley passes under the Brenner motorway. The view of the Isarco Valley from almost all slopes is breathtaking.

The slopes of the resort serve 5 cable cars: 2 gondola lift and 1 chairlift. There are 2 children’s lifts for beginners and children. The total length of the cable cars is 51 km, which are capable of transporting up to 5560 passengers/hour.
