Etna Nord (Linguaglossa)

Etna Nord – Piano Provenzana (Linguaglossa) Resort is located in the Italian province of Catania in the Sicilia region (provincia di Catania regione Sicilia). There are 10.3 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 4 lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 1810 and 2336 meters above sea level.

Skiing on the active Mount Etna is undoubtedly an exciting and unique experience. There are two areas on Etna: Nicolosi in the south at altitudes between 1910-2,700 meters and the Piani di Provenzana-Linguaglossa area on the northern side of Etna between 1800-2336 meters.

The second ski area of ​​Conserva Etna Nord Linguaglossa Piano Provenzana is equipped with one four-seater chairlift and three drag lifts serving 4 red and 2 blue slopes.

While the slope in Nicolosi is devoid of vegetation, pine forests cover the whole of Provenzana, and a fantastic feed to the Ionian Sea opens up during the descent. For those who prefer cross-country skiing, Piano Provenzana has excellent tracks, designated by the park and forestry authorities.

Etna has a height of 3343 meters, a radius of 20 km and a conical shape, it offers numerous opportunities for ski mountaineering from all directions, for example, the area of ​​four summit craters, accessible both from the south of Etna and from the north at an altitude of over 3300 meters … Here you can practice off-piste, where there are no cracks and avalanches, or go to the north side on a snowcat to go downhill on skis.

At the foot of Etna, in the Montserra Park, the artificial Skistadium made of plastic runs all year round.
