The Val Formazza resort is located in the Italian region of Valdossola, Piemonte region, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola (Val d’Ossola, regione Piemonte, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola). Formazzaski in Val Formazza is a small but full-fledged ski area for those who prefer peace of mind over the chaos of the most crowded ski areas.
Chair and drag lifts, as well as a moving track, serve ski slopes suitable for skiers of all skill levels. The chairlift serves the most difficult descent – the “red” Sagersboden. For the little ones, there is a snow park and a bobsleigh track.
In addition to the slopes, there are many interesting routes for ski lovers: from the Sagersboden chairlift station you can reach the Vannino Valley and the surrounding peaks: M. Jove (3009 m), M. Minoia (2800 m), Punta d’Arbola (3235 m), Punta del Forno (2919 m).
For cross-country skiing, there are 20 km of trails in the village of San Michele with 2 rings, 1 of 8 km in Fondovalle and 1 of 4 km in Waldo on the banks of the Noce River and another FISI-approved trail in Piana di Riale at altitude 1738 m.
Val Formazza is one of the 7 valleys of Ossola, famous not only for skiing, but also for the Toce waterfall.
