Sampeyre resort is located in the Italian province of Cuneo region of Piemonte (Provincia di Cuneo regione Piemonte). There are 17.2 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 2 ski lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 980 and 1860 meters above sea level.

Sampeir is the most important ski center of the Varaita Valley, which stretches at the foot of Monviso, on the border with France. Situated at 970 meters above sea level, it is prized for its mid-mountain climate and is the starting point for numerous ascents and ski mountaineering routes, including Logge del Viso (3015 m), Mount Nebin (2,514 m) or Cima delle Lobby (3015 m).

From Vallone di Santa Anna, chair lifts take you 1850 m to Colle di Sampair, where ski lovers can find 17 km of artificial snow slopes that lead down to the village.

The Meira Garneri Shelter, near the station of the second chairlift, is the starting point for ski trips up the Cugule Mountain (2,494 m) and snowshoe excursions along marked trails towards Pian delle Baracche and the panoramic Colle di Sampeir. At the beginning of the first chair lift there is an ice rink with an area of ​​650 square meters.

There is an 8 km alpine trail for cross-country skiing, and there are 10 km of hiking trails in the village of Bechetto. Youngsters and first-time skiing enthusiasts can look forward to a jogging track about 100 meters long, and for snowboard lovers there is a well-equipped snow park with three jumps.

An interesting excursion passes through the Aleve forest, which extends mainly over the Sampeir area. Between 1500 and 2500 m, stone pines rise on the slopes of Monviso, some of which are more than 500-600 years old.

Other ski resorts are located in the Varaita Valley: Bellino and Pontekianale.
