Chiesa Valmalenco is the main ski and tourist center of the Valmalenco region, located behind Sondrio and surrounded by romantic landscapes dominated by the Disgratia, Bernina and Skalino mountain ranges. Together with Caspoggio and Lanzada, Chiesa forms a tourist area of the highest level, a precious pearl nestled between majestic peaks and unspoiled nature, ideal for sports, health and relaxation.

Chiesa is also appreciated by those tourists who love hiking and cycling. But above all, this resort is famous for its ski area: a wide range of slopes and lifts will appeal to fans of alpine and Nordic skiing, as well as snowboarders of all levels, from professionals to beginners. In addition, there is a place here for those who like to walk on snowshoes, preferring a “slow” experience in close contact with the environment, following the rhythm of nature.

Until 1960, Chiesa could rely mainly on summer tourism. Then, with the construction of ski lifts in Caspogio and Palu, it also became a winter tourist resort. The development of the resort continues from year to year. Thanks to advanced technologies, service and quality of service are at a high level here. Back in 1999, the opening of the world’s largest cable car, the Snow Eagle, took place. In 2004, the San Giuseppe – Alpe Palu chairlift was renewed with protective domes and an automatic clutch. In 2008, it hosted the FIFA World Cup games and freestyle and snowboard competitions. In 2016 the long-awaited replacement of the oldest lift took place: the Alpe Palù – Cima Motta chair lift.

The resort looks confidently into the future and invites guests!
