Madesimo ski resort is located on the border with Switzerland and is part of the Valchiavenna ski area, which in turn is part of the huge Valtellina ski region.

The Madecimo resort, known since ancient times as a thermal resort due to its mineral spring, since 1729 has gained wide popularity as a prestigious ski center, where many celebrities spend their holidays. This tradition has survived to this day, and therefore, the tracks and services of the resort are maintained at the highest level.

Due to the suitable climate, the slopes of Pizzo Groppera (2948 m) are covered with excellent snow, which lasts until mid-spring.

All tracks are of first class quality here. The famous Canalone descent, which connects Pizzo Gropper and Pian di Larici, deserves special attention. The skiing area of Valchiavenna, along with Madesimo, includes the village of Campodolcino, the villages of Motta and Montespluga, as well as the Val di Lei area. The Sky Express underground cable car, connecting the village of Campodolcino (1066 m) with the village of Motta (1720 m), overcomes an almost 700-meter vertical drop in 3 minutes and stops right at the slopes. The slopes that descend from Pizzo Gropper to Rifugio Val di Lei are called the Val di Lei area – there are 4 more red slopes here.

Those who wish can arrange a regional ski pass valid for the entire ski region of Valtellina with 400 km of slopes and 140 lifts, as well as for all resorts in the Lombardy region.
