Monte Livata (Subiaco-Monna dell’Orso)

Resort Monte Livata – Subiaco-Monna dell’Orso is located in the Roman province of the Lazio region (provincia di Roma regione Lazio). There are 8 km of slopes for skiing and snowboarding. 4 lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 1429 and 1800 meters above sea level.

Monte Livata is the only ski resort in the province of Rome, from which it is 78 km and 15 km from the town of Subiaco. The Monna dell’Orso four-seater chairlift has been closed for several years in a row, starting in 2013, but now it runs and climbs to 6 downhill ski slopes suitable for skiers of all levels, as well as to the new snow park.

In Fossa del Acero and Campo del Osso, three moving lanes serve an area dedicated to snowboarding, light alpine skiing, a ski school, and a snow tubing and tobogganing area. In the Cesone area, children and everyone who wants to have fun in the snow will find free sledding places. Family Park is open on weekends.

For cross-country, there are four well-groomed trails with a maximum length of 7 km, three of which are FIS accredited. They host various national championships and a track. On the Tricolor track, usually played in classical and free technique, La Sgambata is held annually – running races and walks in the snow for several distances.

The guides organize annual snowshoe walks under the stars and orienteering snowshoes. Excursions for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing can be practiced throughout the Simbruini Mountains, to which Monte Livata belongs.
