The Pievepelago-Sant’Annapelago resort is located in the Italian province of Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region (provincia di Modena regione Emilia-Romagna). There are 12 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 2 ski lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 1100 and 1700 meters above sea level.
Sant’Annapelago is a small ski resort near the town of Pievepelago, at the foot of Monte Albano (1693 m), just below the Passo delle Radici, the pass that separates Tuscany (Garfagnana) from Emilia in the Tuscan Apennines. Emilano is just 25 minutes by car from the Abetone and Cimone areas.
The ski area of the Sant’Annapelago resort begins a few steps from the city center. Two interconnected double chair lifts lead to the top of Mount Albano and serve ski slopes of varying difficulty, partially covered with artificial snow. A covered moving walkway lift is located next to the Poggio Scorzatello shelter. It starts from the upper station of the chairlift. For snowboarding enthusiasts, there is a snow park with two lines of trampolines for the bravest.
Cross-country skiers will find several trails in the Acque Chiare area with 7.5, 5 and 3 km rings. There is also a FISI-approved cross-country skiing trail: its length is 2.5 km, of which 1.5 km are lit and with artificial snow.
You can follow the many snowshoeing trails in the Frignano Park, which covers an area of 15,000 hectares. Mount Chimone (2165 m) rises on the territory of the park, and there is a beautiful lake Santa Modena. Frignano Park (sometimes called Parco dell’Alto Appennino Modenese), whose center is the village of Pievepelago, offers many interesting ski mountaineering routes towards the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.

Total length of tracks 8 km. The vertical drop is 600 meters. The preparation of the tracks is carried out with the help of special snow groomers of snow groomers. The surface of the slopes is kept in excellent condition by the artificial snowmaking system. The slopes are illuminated, which makes it possible to use them in the evening. Beginners and children can take advantage of the special training slope.
