Piane di Mocogno

The Piane di Mocogno resort is located in the Italian province of Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region (provincia di Modena regione Emilia-Romagna). There are 5 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 2 ski lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 1270 and 1617 meters above sea level.

Pian di Mocono is a small but well-equipped ski resort, perfect for spending a few hours in the snow with your family. There are 2 lifts here that serve 4 ski slopes that run along the slopes of Monte Cantier. The black trail “Lupo” descends from the summit (1617 m), and in the green valley training grounds with artificial snow are the best for the first steps on the snow.

In 2011, on the site of the Poggio ski lift, a 200 m long covered moving walkway was built, the other 2 lifts (the slopes of Duka and Lupo) remained the same. Piane di Mocogno also has a children’s park for the little ones with the possibility of using a section of the trail for descending on “cheesecakes”. There is a toboggan run and a bobsleigh run. One track is lit for night skiing.

However, the strong point of the resort is cross-country skiing: enthusiasts will find here 9 circuit tracks for a distance of more than 50 km at the Centro Fondo Piana Amorotti (AS Olimpic Lama tel. 0536.44475). All slopes have an average width of 9 meters and are equipped for both techniques (classical and skating), providing routes suitable for both beginners and more experienced ones.

For excursions on snowshoes, routes have been developed with a length of more than 25 km. National snowshoe competitions have been held since 2010.

The scenery ranges from beech and magnificent pine forests to wide plateaus.
