Nestled among the greenery of the Gigante Regional Park, in the Apennines of Reggiano, about 3 km from the town of Febbio, the ski resort is located on the northern side of Mount Cousna, which, due to its elongated shape, resembles a sleeping man, and its top looks like a human head.
Two chair lifts (one triple and one double) serve the ski slopes, suitable mainly for skiers with an average to good technical level, their maximum difference in elevation is about 900 meters, which makes this place very interesting in the Apennine landscape. For families with children, there is a boot camp for the first steps on skis, blue trails, a baby park and bobsleigh and toboggan runs. It should be borne in mind that while the skilifts work only from Thursday to Sunday.
The strong point of this area is the maximum height of 2063 meters, which can be reached on the chairlift in 2000, from which the descent of the same name begins. It is “black”, the hardest in the resort, FIS accredited, and is about 2100 meters long.
At high altitude on the slopes that open up along the path of the 2000 lift, there are also enticing off-piste routes. For fans of the Pianvallese cross, the trail is 3000 m, with options of 2500 m. For snowboarding, the snow park has rails and jumps suitable for both beginners and experienced snowboarders. For lovers of ski mountaineering, it is possible to reach the top of Monte Cousna at an altitude of 2121 m (with easy routes on the slopes of the northeast side and more difficult on the east face) or other peaks such as Piella, Vallestrina and Ravino, or through Passon, the Ozola valley … Local alpine guides organize guided ski tours or snowshoe excursions.
