Palumbosila

The Palumbosila resort is located in the Italian province of Crotone in the Calabria region (provincia di Crotone regione Calabria). There are 20 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 2 ski lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 1350 and 1650 meters above sea level.

Palumbosila is a ski resort in Calabria, located on the outskirts of the Palumbo village on the southern shore of Lake Ampollino, 1320 meters above sea level in the Sila mountains. This area, together with the neighboring villages of Belkastro and Trepido, is one of the best equipped recreation centers in the mountains.

All tracks, equipped with modern high-speed lifts, are located on the eastern side of Mount Gariglione, whose peak is 1765 meters above sea level.

In addition to ski slopes, wide and gentle, mostly uncomplicated, there is a one kilometer long bobsleigh and an ice rink. The resort has a well-developed infrastructure – there is a good rental of equipment, restaurants and trattorias that allow you to taste typical local cuisine, as well as markets and shops of all kinds. The village of Palumbo is a place that has remained somewhat isolated from the main transport routes, thus preserving an unspoiled natural environment that allows you to enjoy the unspoiled and wild landscapes typical of the Silan environment.

In the summer, it offers campsites around Lake Ampollino and wonderful events organized every year in the summer months, with numerous festivals, fairs and singing events such as the Ampollino Jazz Festival, which attracts young spectators from the southern regions every year. The village of Palumbo is located in the Sila National Park.
