The Sellata resort is located in the Italian province of Potenza of the Basilicata region (provincia di Potenza regione Basilicata). There are 4 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 3 lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 1375 and 1725 meters above sea level.
The Sellata, nestled in the forests of the Apennino Lucano National Park, has a double chairlift (which leads to the 1737 m high Monte Pierfaone), 1 drag lift and 1 belt lift, which serve 4 km of ski slopes. There are 4 slopes here: “black” with a length of 1300 m and a vertical drop of 267 meters, 2 “red” slopes with a total length of 2100 m and a “blue” one with a length of 600 m.
The ski resort is linked to the nearby Arioso Fossa Cupa. The connection with the slope of Mount Arioso is ensured by the presence of a ski lift that connects Fosso Neviera, which gives skiers 7 lifts and a total of about 7 km of slopes with one ski pass. In the Arioso area, skiers can use three lifts serving 5 downhill skiing slopes: a short black piste 450 m long, three red pistes with a total length of 1,330 m and a blue piste 830 m long.
Skiing ranges from 1350 meters (Sellata) to 1740 meters (Monte Pierfaone) and 1700 meters (Monte Arioso) in a very panoramic location surrounded by the Volturino and Vigiano mountains. Sellata Arioso is a ski resort consisting of two settlements, Abriola and Sasso di Castalda, located in the heart of Basilicata, a few kilometers from the capital Potenza.
