The Courmayeur – Chécrouit/Val Veny resort is located on Mont Blanc in the Italian region of Valle d’Aosta (Monte Bianco, Italia, Valle d’Aosta). There are 41.5 km of slopes for skiing and snowboarding. 17 lifts transport skiers on them. The winter sports complex is located between 1205 and 2755 meters above sea level.
Courmayeur is one of the three most expensive and elite ski resorts in Italy, along with Madonna di Campiglio and Cortina d’Ampezzo. This resort is located on the border with France and bears the imprint of French charm and a special taste for life.
The tracks here are polished to perfection and are not intended for beginners at all. Off-piste slopes start from sky-high heights and pass along such slopes that even seasoned freeriders are not in a joke. And below the carousel of high life spins: elegant hotels, fine restaurants, the famous Pre Saint Didier baths, carnivals – a real metropolitan life.
Courmayeur can be called without any stretch the capital of the Val D’Aosta ski region – the highest in Italy. From Milan and Turin, an autobahn leads here with branches to the resorts of Monte Rosa, Cervinia, La Thuile. The road ends in the huge Mont Blanc (Montblanc, 4810 m), which has no equal in Europe in height. The resort is located at its foot.
Since the conquest of this peak in 1784, the climbers who gathered here have given impetus to the development of the tourist centers of Chamonix and Courmayeur. The first school of the highest class guides was founded here. Today the resort has 2 ski schools, and without an experienced specialist from Societa Guide Alpine Courmayeur, no serious freeriding route is possible.
Today Courmayeur is able to attract and fall in love with many. Stress and relaxation, rest and sports, risk and carefree fun – all this adds up to the unforgettable atmosphere of an expensive resort, where money is pleasant to spend because it is worth it.
