The Gran Sasso Resort – Campo Imperatore is located in the Italian province of L’Aguilla in the Abruzzo region (Provincia dell’Aquila regione Abruzzo). There are 27 km of trails for skiing and snowboarding. 4 lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 1115 and 2235 meters above sea level.

The Abruzzo region, famous for its mountainous landscapes and parks, boasts numerous ski resorts where you can enjoy your time doing winter sports. During the coldest months of the year, the Abruzzo mountains have enough snow, and the low temperatures keep the artificial snow cover on the numerous trails. The proximity of Rome (most places are less than two hours from the Italian capital), the beauty of nature (you can ski in 4 national parks at once) and the hospitality of the locals have been the hallmark of the ski areas of Abruzzo for many years.

The legendary Campo Imperatore is the first ski resort to appear in the Apennines, it is located on the edge of the plateau of the same name among the mountain peaks of the Gran Sasso massif. It is one of the coldest areas in Italy and is characterized by a large amount of snow from November to April. In summer, the resort can be reached by numerous roads, but in winter it is better to use the famous funicular, which connects Campo Imperatore with Assergi.

The slopes of this ski area have a total length of 15 km and are served by four lifts. There are also tracks (with a total length of 60 km) for practicing other winter disciplines and a snow park for snowboarding enthusiasts.
