For skiing and snowboarding, there are 93.1 km of ski slopes and 16.3 km of ski slopes. 43 lifts transport skiers. The winter sports zone is located at an altitude of 830 to 2025 meters above sea level.

Since the opening in December 2012 of a new ski lift linking the towns of Alpbachtal and Schatzberg, the new ski resort has been named “Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau”, which means “ski pearl”. With just one ski pass, you can use 46 lifts and ski on nearly 100 km of slopes.

Alpbachtal is recommended by all ski insiders as one of the most beautiful valleys in the Alps with characteristic towns and villages. In addition to Alpbach, which with its traditional wooden architecture is considered the most beautiful village in Austria, eight more villages remain untouched here, as well as Rattenberg, the smallest city in Austria, still waiting to be discovered by tourists.

In the Wildschönau area, the idyllic villages of Niederau, Oberau, Tierbach and Auffach, with their churches and the friendliness of their inhabitants, uniquely characterize the charm of the upper valley. Fun and relaxing winter activities, walking on the farm footpaths or sledding, are truly unforgettable moments.
