The Kaltenbach – Hochzillertal/Hochfügen (SKi-optimal) resort is located in the Austrian Tyrol, Erste Ferienregion im Zillertal (Austria, Tirolo, Tiroler Unterland, Schwaz, Zillertal). For skiing and snowboarding, 86.7 km of trails are laid here. 36 lifts transport skiers. The winter sports complex is located between 600 and 2378 meters above sea level.

The ski resorts Hochzillertal and Hochfügen merged in the 2004/2005 season. They are located at the entrance to the Ziller Valley and offer the ultimate in skiing pleasure. From Kaltenbach, the ski lifts and slopes in the ski resort stretch up to almost 2,400 meters, so you can ski until April. Most of the lifts in this huge winter sports center are modern gondolas and chair lifts that quickly take skiers and snowboarders uphill.

Kaltenbach and Hochfügen offer not only slopes for everyone, but also optimal relaxation. Here you will find first-class restaurants of the highest standard, which offer culinary delights in cozy mountain huts, offering impressive panoramic views of the Zillertal valley and the Alps. Even more variety can be found in the high alpine bowl of Hochfügen, a true paradise for freeriders, where they can ride on pristine slopes right into spring.

Total length of tracks 85.6 km. The vertical drop is 1778 meters. The preparation of the tracks is carried out with the help of special snow groomers of snow groomers. Artificial snowmaking system ensures snow cover on slopes during unstable weather. In total, the resort has 550 snow cannons that cover 100% of the tracks. Artificial lighting is provided on the slopes, which allows you to ride and train comfortably in the evening. For beginners, a special training slope is equipped – smooth and wide.

The combined resort Ski-Optimal offers slopes of all difficulty levels. Their distinctive feature is their width; where most of the descents begin, there is absolutely no vegetation. Below, before ending in the valley, the trails cross the forest. In this part, they become simple or medium in complexity, which means that almost any skier can ride here at his pleasure.

The longest trail: downhill from Öfelerjoch to Aschau, 11 km long, elevation 1760 m. At the end of the trail there is a ski bus that takes skiers back to the top. This track is also the most difficult.

Visitors are lifted up 39 lifts: 6 gondola lift, 11 chairlift and 12 t-bar lift. There are 10 children’s lifts for beginners and children. The total length of the cable cars is 361 km, which are capable of transporting up to 59753 passengers/hour.

Modern gondola lifts lead from Kaltenbach to the ski area. The resort’s chair lifts are almost all equipped with protective domes and heated seats. Beginners have a fair amount of moving tracks and skilifts. The connection between Hochfügen and Hochzillertal is provided by a modern eight-seat gondola lift. There is even a VIP-class gondola lift in Hochzillertal. Its state-of-the-art cabins guarantee a smooth ride when climbing. The interior has been developed by BMW Individual and consists of a leather seat with massage function and the BMW 7 Series Sedan’s multimedia system. The rise on it is carried out by booking.
