The Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl resort is located in the Austrian tourist region of Sportwelt – Salzburger Sportwelt, which in turn is part of Austria’s largest resort chain Ski Amade.

For skiing and snowboarding, 45 km of ski slopes and 3.5 km of ski slopes are laid here. 15 lifts transport skiers. The winter sports area is located at an altitude of 1000 to 2176 meters above sea level.

Despite the image of a “budget” resort, Flachauwinkle does not save on infrastructure: perfectly profiled and well-groomed slopes, modern lifts, kindergartens, cafes and restaurants – the price-quality ratio is clearly in favor of vacationers. Confirmation of this is the huge number of tourist buses from all over Europe, which occupy extensive parking near the ski lifts every weekend.

In terms of the difficulty of skiing, the resort can be safely attributed to universal: there is absolutely everything, including off-pistols and sports tracks.

Mount Shuttleberg (1980 m) is the center of the Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl ski area. Each lift serves at least two ski slopes of varying difficulty and an off-piste section. In addition, the Shuttleberg has a timed track, an express track, a children’s park, a family track, the 1.5 km Absolute Park snow park with a halfpipe, and Burton Stash jib park with over 70 carved wood figures.

Kleinarl is a tiny village that can only be reached via Wagrain, with fantastic views of the Hohe Tauern Nature Park. A convenient and inexpensive place for family accommodation, the ski lifts are located right in the center of the village.

The Flachauwinkl-Zauchensee ski area, located on the Rosskopf mountain (1929 m), is characterized by steeper slopes with a predominance of red pistes. It is more crowded and hosts the Downhill World Cup and freestyle competitions. The village of Zauchensee is located on the shores of the mountain lake Zauchen right under the ski lifts and consists of several hotels that are very comfortable for athletes. Basically, the people live in the neighboring towns of Altenmarkt and Radstadt, where there is both shopping and entertainment.
