The resort Hochkönig – Maria Alm/Dienten/Mühlbach is located in Austria, the state of Salzburg, Hochkönig – Hochkönig, Austria, Salisburghese. The Hochkönig ski resort unites the settlements Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach. In addition to numerous ski slopes, it offers one of the most exciting and impressive ski tours in Austria: Königstour. It is 35 km of cross-country trails and its highest point is 1900 meters above sea level. The route is simple, amidst enchanting fairy-tale landscapes and through the freshest snow – it is quite possible to pass it in one day. Many families with children choose this particular resort to spend a wonderful and unique day together among the Alpine splendor.

Also wonderful and inimitable are local cuisine dishes prepared in restaurants and shelters right on the slopes.

Total length of tracks 120 km. The vertical drop is 1100 meters. The slopes are kept in good condition by snowmobiles and the efforts of the ski resort staff. There is a system of artificial snowmaking. In total, the resort has 600 snow cannons that cover 94% of the tracks. In the dark, the territory and slopes for skiing are illuminated. Highly professional instructors conduct group and individual lessons for adults and children.

The Hochkönig Resort offers trails for every skill level. Most of the slopes are very wide and run through the forest. there is off-piste and night skiing, as well as the funslope park at Maria Alm. So every skier will find exactly what he was looking for.

The longest run: Sunnhütte-Mühlbach numbered 4 and 1a, 94 m long, 830 m vertical drop.

The most difficult track: Hochmais number 31, 1 km long, 300 m vertical drop.

The most interesting tracks:

  • Descent to the Mühlbach Valley number 1, a black trail that runs through a picturesque forest right up to the town, is a real treat for confident skiers.

On the tops of the slopes, skiers and snowboarders are delivered 34 cable cars: 7 gondola lift, 8 chairlift and 17 t-bar lift. There are 2 children’s lifts for beginners and children. The total length of the cable cars is 384 km, which are capable of transporting up to 53523 passengers/hour.

From Maria Alm, via Dienten and up to Mühlbach, you can climb with the most modern lifting devices. These are mainly chairlifts with protective domes and partially with heated seats. Powerful cab-type lifts go from the valley to the ski area. The Kings Cab even has cabins with free W-LAN. For beginners, there are moving paths and skilifts scattered throughout the area. The lifts in the Hochkenig ski area are at the cutting edge of technology. Thus, the Dorf-Jet Natrun chairlift was the first combined lift in Austria.
